Twelve children. One Calling.
Still becoming.

Becoming Me

(my story)

The Colorado girl who wanted a horse, not a husband

When my parents said, “Buy your own horse,” I said, “Deal.” That kicked off a childhood filled with wild adventures, wide-open skies, and plenty of hard work - showing horses, hiking Colorado trails, fly-fishing with Dad, and enough tennis to make a racket. Mom taught me all things domestic.

As a girl, I fell in love with Jesus, drawn to something more profound. Bible in hand, I’d watch the sunrise and talk with God, learning early that walls don’t confine His presence. I was dubbed Little Miss Merry Sunshine.

All that energy led to my major in PE, with minors in dance and fine arts. I had zero interest in boys, and in college, I took a life-changing trip to Israel, where I was baptized in the Jordan River.

Marriage? Motherhood? Not in my plans! But as I learned, God loves a good plot twist.

Becoming Us

(my marriage)

In my early twenties, I worked with high school students, laser-focused on ministry, and enjoyed being single.

Then I met Bill.

He made me laugh. He asked real questions. Being around him felt easy… and terrifying. So naturally, I ran. I didn’t want a distraction or anything that looked like commitment. But like Jonah and that big fish, I couldn’t outrun what God had planned.

Through prayer, wise counsel, and Bill’s quiet steadiness, God showed me this wasn’t a detour, it was a divine setup. Bill wasn’t a disruption; he was a gift who became my best friend.

Eventually, I said yes - not just to Bill, but to the beautiful, unexpected life God was unfolding. And I’m so glad I did!

That man I almost ran from? He became my husband, a businessman, and eventually, the mayor of Lakeland, Florida.

So yeah - the girl who once wanted a horse more than a husband? She married a man who ran a city… and still makes her laugh every single day.

The love story that held it all together. From Indiana girl to mayor’s wife - didn’t see that coming!

Becoming Twelve

Meet the souls that call me Mama. Each child changed me. Each one carries a spark, a struggle, a story, their story. Meet the Assorted Dozen.

Becoming Legacy

(the mission)

Our goal is to build a generational faith that outlives us. From two, we became twelve - one shining from Heaven. With 41 grandkids (and counting) scattered across five states, we are forever connected and building a legacy of love and faith. Our desire is that our Kingdom legacy continues through our children and the generations to come through them. Meanwhile, we are enriched by meeting others on the same journey.

More than memories…
